Me & the shallow stairs will update how new jersey is probly by the end of june or so. I mean besides the fact that there are VERY VERY Few place that even play anything but rock in our part of NJ, at the moment I wouldn't be doing for money or for really any exposure more for experience and for fun.

dude higgins, let's just throw one at my house, i'd bet the nearest venue wanting breakcore or turntables that are not hip-hop, would be at least 2 hours away

yeh parties are hard to come by in the U.S. except for the largest metropolitan areas.
although, with enough effort, you can find a grassroots movement in your local area, even if its just one or two more guys who play breakcore. from there you build your own .. find a friendly, cheap venue, and get them to let you play there one night of the week, and there you go; a breakcore weekly.
then comes advertisement..

try passing out flyers at raves. . . i know it sounds lame but raves are where the source of people that eventually are going to attend evolve from.
or try college radio.

there are plenty of things happening all over the U.S., you just gotta know where to look...
shallow & higgins do you know who Machine is?

he lives in new brunswick and has been hosting breakcore [and other types of] events, for years. he's a good friend of ours and is going to be working with us on Barcore stuff in 08. he's having some nice parties soon, so you should check his place out when you get a chance. i know you guys said your pretty young, so his place would be great, cause it's literally his basement where he throws his parties. no worries about age limit, like our parties in NYC. 100% diy baby!
i can't really speak for the DC/baltimore area, as the people i know there are few and far between. most of which are fans of [insert genre]core, but don't really have the motivation to host events and/or aren't producers or anything. although i don't know everyone in that area and i'm sure there could be people trying to do something...
that's the whole point we try to make here in NYC with Barcore, it's only about 3 of us who work on this and make it happen. at first, we weren't getting a lot of people, but as time has passed and more people have finally made it out to our party, our attendance has been growing. maybe by only 5-8 people at a time, but over a few parties, that number grows close to 100 people attending our events sometimes...
granted we are in NYC which is a densely populated city. where we can literally just walk the streets and try to promote to anyone we feel might be into it, but we also go to just about any sort of music event, rave, metal/hardcore shows, hip hop events, jungle parties, audio conventions, art galleries, etc. and try to pull people from everywhere...
it's pretty rough to compete here in this city, cause there are a ton of other, peoples, crews, etc. doing tons of different events, most of which [at least in our opinion] are very commercially dominated. i also feel that when you try to pitch a "breakcore event" to someone who hasn't even really heard something like "drum n bass", they are going to be lost. so it takes a lot of promotion and leg work to just not only get the message out, but also make sure people can understand what they are expecting...
lol...damn, did that even make sense?
i feel like i've been talking in circles lately, as we are trying to work on getting a new venue and we have been busy putting a press release together...
but yah, point is there is a bunch of things happening in the U.S. if you know where to look. if you really can't find something or someone doing something that is within traveling distance, then try putting something together yourself!
shit, i know me a bunch of people that would love to tour the U.S., so get to work people!
