Hey I do that (mix records), I just don't throw my arms up in the air and act like a superstar about it. Mixing's not easy, but it's not hard either.

yeah but thats mixing...i literally meant people who just play one record after another without doing anything...fucking sucks that these types of knobheads often get paid more money than the poor c*nt who made the record they are playing!

prolly the main reason i have not been impress by any dj in years. i went to go see a drum and bass dj not long ago...a pretty kickass one at that...but his live mixing what SHIT!! personally i dont think anyone mixing cdjs does shit while mixing. they all wait for a breakdown or a quiet part and bring in the next track.

I disagree, I mix the same whether it's cd's, records, a midi controller hooked up to torq...I'm pretty aggressive about playing the two sound sources off one another. another thing I don't do is use the auto beatmatch function on torq, I pretty much use it like 2 cdj's.

umm, yeah... with regards to CDJs... alan and I most definitely are "doing shit" when we are using them. beatmatching just like regular turntables without any "assistance." AND, we use them as samplers/instraments during our mixing.

since we got the xponent midi controller, we basically use it the same way we used the CDJs.

you also have to consider you went and saw a dnb dj... there are maybe a handfull of dnb djs in the world that are actually entertaining to watch mix.

you should tune into our show tonight.

um... been getting back into the earlier X-Ecutioners recorded stuff lately. Rob Swift, Mista Sinista, Roc Raida, & Total Eclipse. Good times.
