I love how tight everyone gets on the internet... you guys must be tough as fuck to hang out.

If we're talking drummers I'm going for my man from Primus. He may not be the most technical but he's kept it fresh for a long time, unlike some other jaded folks... without names.

yeah, Tim Alexander (primus) would be another of my favs... and I kinda disagree with you about him being a tight drummer.

hmm... haven't checked my anus in minute, but seeing as how it's been a exit only, I'd assume it's still tight :D

but I am as tough as John Wayne toilet paper.

he's good. seriously tho, if you wanna hear some insanity, tony williams can play some of the most creative and technically-difficult stuff anyone has ever attempted. also see: terry bozzio, vinny colaiuta, billy cobham, buddy rich, gene hoglan...those are just off the top of my head. crazy drummers, every one.

I find it totally hilarious to be discussing technique-oriented drumming on a breakcore message board, btw. I guess I shouldn't. I've been working on playing some speed-jungle drill-n-bass sorts of phrasing/ideas with sticks. it's challenging to phrase things in a way that resembles highly edited sequenced drum parts.

also, I just recorded a live drum track for this oddball dnb/jungle tune I have after deciding I was unhappy with the programmed ones. it's gonna be fun to fuck with them and edit them as though they were someone else's loop.

Dynamite. Jungle is always fun.

Jimmy Chamberlin from the Pumpkins was pretty decent in his day. His solo stuff was moribund though.

Best drum solo I've ever seen. Plus, he was only 8 at the time!

yo, as far as i know the amens the only break with a name everybody knows

'cept the funky drummer, but thats gay as fuck - thers a "powerful" break on black sabbath's supernaut, although not as versatile for slicing up

billy cobham is the best drummer ever
