I was into that stuff for the LONGEST fucking time. Check out Cattle Decapitation, if you haven't already heard of them.
Mmmeeehhh. Checked out some stuff on youtube. The vocals and weird intros (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1M2H3Ok-lDs) turn me off. Their rhythms and progressions are fucking awesome though...

The same crap happens with electronic/breakcore -- when you get to the point where you can't describe what you like/do musically without spewing out a throw-up mess of shit desciption... i.e,
"What do you listen to? i like Folk?"
"i don't listen to that shit. i only like real Lounge-grind-ambient-melodic-post hardcore-mental-glitch-pop-core."

What's worse is when saying "breakcore" without further explanation gets you the same response - that's what i'm getting pretty sick of.
None of that on this forum though <3

yeah, you'll be surprised tho... a lot of people on this forum take it way too seriously. i'm not saying don't be serious about the music you make... it's the people that think Breakcore will make them superstars or some shyte.
it won't.... ever. Ask Ladyscraper how breakcore pays his bills.. it doesn't.
And they condemn people for not structuring their tracks in the right way.
Give me a fucking break.
For me.... any genre that starts out 'punky' - for lack of a better term..
should never be too pretentious.. or pretentious at all for that matter.

I totally agree. Musician X has no goddamn right to condemn Musician Y for using different song structures. Fuck that shit, seriously.
And yeah, that 'punky' thing, i'm guessing you mean counter-genres (in the sense of counter-cultures, just not a culture i mean). Again, i agree.
Counter-cultures, originating for the sole sake of being "different" shouldn't revolve around simply "staying different", but once they do - pretentiousness appears.

I used to do vocals in a trash metal band. we were doing pretty well untill we broke up about six years ago due to personal differences. after that i decided to burn all my pantera shirts and get into this new thing they call breakcore. I still listen to Mastodon and Dillinger Escape Plan and some black metal.

So THAT'S what you meant. You are into that really brutal shit. I had about a six month period where I was into that.
A few bands I listened to.

And yeah, I like Waking The Cadaver. Have you seen this video?

I've... probably done this on accident once or twice. DJ Floorclearer is one of my least favorite DJs and I talk a lot of shit about his music.

Dillinger? Check out Psyopus. It's some chaotic ass mathcore.

Never got too much into Mastodon, or black metal, though I occasionally listen to certain black metal bands. Not that depressive shit, just melodic.

Press the quote button on the posts you want to quote, then just copy-paste them all into a single reply Anybody, let me know if there is a quicker way, though

Haha, yeah... I just like the rock music where the singer sounds like his innards are bubbling and the drummer has synchronized Restless Leg Syndrome on both legs and Parkinsons in his arms
On a serious note, though. Yeah, i've heard of Skinless. I never gave them a shot because some faggot i used to hang out with used to really love them (like, he heard one song and obsessed about it, he didn't even check out the rest of their stuff). I really liked that track you linked though, so i'm gonna check them out.
Short Bus Pile Up i've NEVER heard of before. I like it. Kindof reminds me of early Cannibal Corpse... Definitely gonna check their stuff, it's right up my alley, at least in the ROCK MUSIC department
That WTC video made me giggle a bit, haha

I'm in it for the love of the music. I figured everyone else would be as well.
