Probably the best french punx band could be La société elle à mauvaise haleine or N'chick'n'Roll, but you'll can't find anything on the last one...

You want some decent, innovative punk or do you just want monotonous 4-chord DC hardcore? The following suggestions are worth checking out, there is no way that an argument could be formulated to the contrary. Anyone who disagrees doesn't listen to as much punk as me AND they listen to The Bravery. Have some of these Chris:
Pere Ubu
Devo
Gang of four
Wire
The Adicts
Nation of Ulysses
Fugazi
Circus Lupus
Lungfish
The Monks
MC5
New york dolls
Rocket from the tombs and/or The dead boys (And thus back to Pere Ubu again)
If you're just looking for some punk pop sing along anthems and you aren't interested in some of the weird shit, try stuff like The Adicts, The Damned, Cock Sparrer, Sham 69, The Adverts, The Ramones...........all the late 70s and early 80s Pub rock and Oi stuff.
This thread is sad. (Except for MarkyPoo)
First of all, The Fatals are the best French band ever. Which still doesn't say much... but at least they know how to party.
Apart from that, how can you all have left out The Discocks, No Trend, GG Allin, early Neurosis, Sledge Hammer, Rudimentary Peni, Splodgenessabounds, Germs, Nasum, Enemy Soil, The Blood, Dwarves, Discharge, Peter & the Test Tube Babies, The Urinals, Chaotic Dischord, Infa Riot, The Lurkers, Negative Approach, Roy Orbison, The Gerogerigegege, or Sha Na Na?
Or their noisy babies: Rusted Shut, Twin Stumps, The Brainbombs, and Operation Ivy?

Your list has taken priority Owen!
OH! Stack, Carol (you should check out the stack/carol split http://7inchcrust.blogspot.com/2007/05/ ... lit-7.html) Angry Samoans, there is a band called 7 from germany that is great but they are impossible to track down due to their obscurity and stupid name choice. Don Knotts, cold shoulder, GEZA X AND THE MOMMYMEN (i can't believe how few people bring this band up when talking about "real" punk), He Who Corrupts, Kolumbine, Weekend Nachos (they sould better when you increase the speed of their records), xharoldshitmanx. I used to be in a band called horrormones, you might like them.
