I Hate Breakcore

Apparently it'll be one of the last times he plays any ATR and Breackore stuff live again, I feel quite lucky, tickets weren't a bad price either to be fair. Let's hope he doesn't play any gay Berlin electro.

i saw him years ago, i think it was summer 1997. even at the time most people were like 'omg is alec empire' and no one cared what the mixing was like...its was OMG! ITS ALEC EMPIRE.

i have been so drunk i couldnt stand and i could still mix...he looks pretty sober.

He's not using headphones, and it was a segment of a bigger set that he did at an art gallery if i'm not mistaken, so I expect that it's supposed to be a segment of pretentious bleeps and beeps. Alec Empire has dabbled in multiple genres and I rather suspect he'll carry on doing whatever he wants to do. The bulk of his live sets are taken up by Intelligence and sacrifice era and newer material, that link is not representative of an Alec Empire gig, it's not even representative of a typical Alec Empire dj set, which largely consists of Hard drum and bass mixed in with some of his own earlier Jungle and Breakcore tracks.
You can say all you want about his attitude or his music or whatever, but he pushed Breakcore forwards whilst most of you were having school dinners and packing your P.E kit, and although it may not sound anywhere near as complicated or as well produced as newer Breakcore you've got to remember he didn't have renoise or Abelton live or Fruity Loops studio, and it was by no means less technical than any of the other early Breakcore (Scud, Aphasic, Bomb20 etc). Please don't hijack this thread with post after post of irrelevant "I don't like Alec Empire" dribble, it's just a few photos from a gig, you've already told us 5 million times before that you don't like Alec Empire, just take your itchy keyboard fingers and pleasure your girlfriend or play some softball or something.
