So, Who else likes black metal like Darkthrone, Bathory, Immortal, Mayhem?

i dig bathory (the earlier the better), and early mayhem stuff before half the band had died. i enjoy darkthrone's attitude if not always their output. the fuck-all, gritty stuff is what appeals to me most. i like venom a lot, they had a good thing going, even if they now sound nothing like modern black metal. there's a band out of canada active right now called revenge that i really like, too... completely insane neanderthalic black war metal chaos... totally ridiculous... the first time i heard them i didn't know whether to shit myself in fear or piss myself laughing

I used to be really into stuff like Shining, Silencer, Forgotten Tomb, Abyssic Hate, Bethlehem, Bilskirnir, Katatonia.

Black metal is just ridiculous. The music is okay, I guess, but the general imagery/aesthetic and lyrical content is just so over-the-top that it's actually pretty funny. Then again, a lot of metal is made of that sort of silliness.
The point is, I prefer grindcore.

Shit yeah. Shining and Abyssic Hate are two of my favs. Other good DSBM bands are: Drudkh, Hypothermia, Trist, Austere and Isolation.

Other than that I fucking love Darkthrone early stuff. I still find them funny and such, but I don't really dig this whole Black'n'roll-thing most bands have gotten into these days.

Oh, and I hope Vikernes gets hit by a truck. Fucking cunt.

Not quite black metal but im off to see Finntroll in Manchester tomorrow. Should be great, nay fucking unbelievable. Never really cared for those Korpiklaani fellas much. Finntroll tho, only seen them once before and never seen such a fun and happy metal show. Some folk were even skanking away. Sound as fuck.

Drudkh is pretty good indeed.
Some other more depressive stuff: Nibdem, Wanhoop, Verloren.

I also love(d) Agaloch. I'm not that much into metal anymore these days but damn, I'm happy I did go to their concert a while back. It was absolutely outstanding.

Dimmu, Merscog, Gotherfall, blackmetal is the shit. Needs to be more blackmetal in the break scene. Maybe do a burzum remix or something epic.
