dubstep is too relaxed about 90 percent of the time
but if you listen to chrissy chris
now thats some banging dubstep right there

on a night out
dubstep can decently start and end a night
because (as said in page 1) it is the lazy mans breakcore
so people get in
start getting a few drinks down them
then once everyones pissed
we get some speedcore on the go
and once everyones partied out..
we have our last pint to a good old dubstep song

then we leave...

i really love dubstep but it's fallen victim to being one seen as a trendy type of music. because of this kids have flocked to it and now you have a million nobodies producing boring half step tunes ALL AT 140 with wobble. nearly every dubstep tune sounds the same. and then because the scene gets popular, it's bigger artists are able to take advantage of that and get more exposure. of course if you want to have any mainstream playability you have to tone your sound down and appeal to the lowest common denominator.

so you have the new kids make wack tunes and the established heads making pop shit in order to jump on the fact that dubstep has blown.

Dubstep is one of these things thats been 'new and exciting' for years and is still riding on that gay little crest. I saw skream the other night, his 1st album was cool but seems his most popular track at the moment is the la roux remix that shit is totally unacceptable. At least midnight express line had a sence of edgyness to it, goin in for the kill is just cheesy filth. The planet mu party this year was like relentless dubstep then vsnares came on and played his crappy new album kinda disapointing but there you go. Then it was a case of countin wobbles till shitmat came on. Havin said that uziq and mrs jynx sounded awesome. Boxcutter too, didnt even get bored during his set which for a dubstep artist is a fucking acheivement

In a party its cool to have one or two dubstep mix a the begining, after Drum & Bass/Jungle and Breakcore till the end of the night hehehehe !!!!

freals!! most of our parties start out dubstep but a few hours in people are itchin and driving me fuckin nutz beggin for the breakcore. I love um both and I think they compliment eachother way good.
sweet and sour sauce for my earbones.

As a breakcorista, and a junglist, I agree with Both Above statements. Since Breakcore is mostly an offshoot of jungle, and dubstep sounds like Jungle for guys that like to "bump the Trunk" of their car, They're all a part of the wide and ever growing species of electronica. However, to not have variety in the entire night at a Rave/Club/Party etc. is pretty lame, and truly bores the people(like me) who come to hear an eclectic colletion of styles. Hell I love it when I get to play with my punk, metal, or noise friends. Allows me to see their, and my, music on a different level.

I cant agree nor disagree.
I like both styles just as much as the other, although glitchcore, breakcore is way more exciting!

In Greece, since breakcore was never really born, dubstep took over jungle and dnb parties right after they began being popular as hell. I've listened to some pretty amazing dubstep in these parties, so filthy that I couldn't resist (after a certain amount of alcohol) to dance to the songs. However, a night consumed by dubstep seems to me like an endless bore.
Let's face it, dubstep is more enjoyable to the people who want to be able to dance, and that's why it accompanies dnb (it can attract chicks, and therefore attract more people).Breakcore on the other hand is fast and less danceable. Futhermore, it's much more relaxing to the common listener than breakcore, as it is less edgy and complex to the extent of being boring. That has nothing to do with breakcore, however. Trends come and go but music evolves. Dubstep is no evolution of breakcore. It's just a different genre, which however fits in well when beginning a live set or a party.
Stop flaming dubstep, I don't believe these tunes took the real fans away from breakcore. They are just the modern "underground" electronica and therefore attract much more people. Just like dnb always did. Although in my opinion breakcore beats both.

I reckon all the producers are making Dubstep for the pussy. a la Drop The Lime. Next it'll all be bassline and when all the kids are pissing jelly or wearing bumbags for thier colostomy bags they might bother with some uppers and a half interesting beat.....

Went to a supposed night where 3 promotions got together for a 5 room thing, ended up with 3 rooms playing dubstep so i fucked off to the electro room only to find yet more dubstep.

To be fair though, if dubstep keeps cunts in garish hoodies wearing new era caps and silly student slags in high heels away from breakcore nights i dont mind.
Saying that though the cool kids have already infiltrated Bangface.......

Don't worry, in a year or so dubstep will be faded from the planet.. people must get bored with the endless WOBWOBWOB at a curtain time...

I dread to think what is next. Pop music seems to be really collapsing in on itself at the moment. The various cheesy styles of sugar pop have descending in to this sort of utter cess pit of corny nothingness. I mean song writing and lyrical standards have reached their absolute rock-bottom, i'm struggling to think where it can possibly go now. It's impossible to be any more artificial than some of these girl groups, and it's impossible to make a camper, gayer song than remix to ignition by R Kelly. I'm worried that the Simon Cowells and the Louis Walshes are gonna find a way to prove me wrong and release something that is so camp, so gay, so banal that my senses won't be able to interpret the sonic frequencies. Maybe it will come out as static, which would be a blessed relief.

Autotune has already been buggered to death now, i'm dreading some sort of daft punk/Alecia Keys hybrid with a bit of Lady gaga thrown in, siphoned through autotune and mixed through a giant hairy bollock.

I mean seriously, how can a song be any fucking cornier.

When I get my gun.......

this whole thread= Most dubstep is bad, except for some, which is good.

which goes for every genre, including/especially breakcore.

also, if the trendiness of a music makes you abandon it and start listening to something else, who is really being influenced by trends? hipsters who flock to a emerging genre or elitists avoiding anything with a hint of mainstream appeal?

both, I guess. Don't even answer that.

most breakcore is shit and most dubstep is shit and most music is shit and most people are shit!! what's fucking new. Good dubstep is great and there is a lot of variation in it but stil most is copycat wobwob especially now that it is so popular and there is money in it. But i'm still finding alot of interesting releases. If all u like is hell fast hard shit than u r obviously not going to like it much.

It's going to stick around for a while i reckon

i love some of the reggae stuff, it's like it's given reggae, jungle and 140bpm music a new type of music. some of the more DnB based stuff is ok as well

can't stand that wobble stuff, same with wobble dnb, it just sounds like presets
