Pre-2000 Breakcore

Postby somebedroomdj » Fri Aug 15, 2008 6:31 pm

Dug up some great older records recently. There's the obvious Ambush and early Peace Off records, but what obscure (or even not so obscure) gems would everybody recommend from back in the day?

Here's a few from me:

http://www.discogs.com/release/835551
http://www.discogs.com/release/156482
http://www.discogs.com/release/46752
http://www.discogs.com/release/132769

I love the more industrial sounding stuff or those records that took jungle that extra step further, before there was really a special name for it.

A lot of the older Ambush and DHR stuff is pretty nice, it's mostly D'n'b/Amen orientated, with some Dub and Dancehall bangers as well. Scud had a killer remix of Asian Dub Foundation. Try Slepcy, Aphasic, Cristop de Babalon, Alec Empire and Bomb 20. Again, I'll recommend The Destroyer by Alec, that whole album is a corker.
