Don't gameboys have to be heavily modded before they can be used for music? Don't really know anything about that...

Why not just get a simple sequencer (I liked "GunGirl Sequencer" which is about as basic as you can get and it's in the Downloads section of this site) and a pack of "chip" sample waves and have at it!

Part of the chiptune style is about showing how well you can overcome the limitations of your platform, right? :)

k you need some kind of tracker on your gameboy... I don't know much about these.

I suggest you start by using a tracker on your computer.

Jinx!

Yeah, I should have emphasized that I meant a simple sequencer for your PC, not the gameboy.

you should not have to mod your gb. just get a nanoloop cartridge. I'm sure i've seen it as software too. Might be worth trying it out before getting the hardware. Its basically a step sequencer with 4 tracks, each a different wave form.

http://www.nanoloop.de/

It'll cost you €58 to do it via hardware or you could cheat and download some free chiptune plug-in from somewhere.
