I sometimes use that thing too, but mostly for ripping songs of yt.
It's pretty good.

If i just want a small part of the videos audio i still use audacity.

use jdownloader, both on mac & windows, it catch the youtube flux & makes you able to get the vids as flv, gp3 or only the audio stream as an MP3 :)

what's the point in using a prog to catch the youtube stream plus another one to convert, with shitty limitation, when things like Jdownloader, wich is free, extract the audio stream & download it directly as a mp3

ive been sampling youtube for years using this method and it truely is the easiest way too and allowing you to sample anything with out having to convert anything!

in your windows XP mixer goto options then properties then click on recording, and CHECK -Stereo Mix to on. press OK then you'll have your little box of inputs make sure Stereo Mix is on.

then open up soundforge or some freeware wave editor and then record... really is as easy as that :)

(NOTE: if you use Windows VISTA... the mixer is appalling download an alternative soundcard mixer for your computer)

Hope that helps guys :)
