I Hate Breakcore

A lot of members make their own tracks here.
Now i was wondering lately , what kind of elements keep you all in mind when you create a new track.
Do you producers out there on this forum always stick to a some kind of regular schedule on building tracks or just on the go when you feel to add elements to your track you just add it ?
Is it maybe so that you make a scetch of the whole idea you want to have and eventually you figure out to combine your idea with the programs you use.....

i never know exactly what my tracks going to sound like, most of the time i make it up as i go along

however i make alot of my tracks in sections of enlightenment, for example, when i have a thread of inspiration, ill usually rip out about 3 choruses for a song, i generally will choose the one with the best impact/first big hit, start with that chorus, develop it, then try and find a way to morph it into my other parts of the song, adding things inbetween to make a complete track, with a general recap of the original chorus at the end

My work flow at the moment goes like this Monday - Friday (unless mega busy with other things). I work all day, then come home eat/shower then sit down and work on music stuff. It can be random music stuff for whatever I'm in the mood for that day. I could be working on new tracks that I have ideas running thru my head. Other times I could be just sampling/resampling stuff, chopping beats, making new effects/effect racks. Other times I'll spend time finishing up tracks by editing and mixing em down for release. Then also throw in DJing and sometimes I'll just stay busy memorizing records, practicing scratch routines, working up new sets, sorting records.

Saturday and Sunday I usually just relax unless I'm really itching to work on a track I'm all into or DJing.

So I pretty much just work, then eat, shit, breathe some sorta music affilated stuff.

I havent actually produced anything in like ages, and sometimes when i think hey today i have a free day going to produce all dya, doesn't work at all.

Its really a moment thing now, sometimes after work or sometimes 2 weeks not, too busy latelly.

Also best things come from spur of the moment shit.

I work all day come home shower....pour a scotch...pack the vaporizer open Fl studio and cubase and get to fucking town in whatever random direction things take me....as of late I've been recording alot of thrash guitar samples..dunno where that's gonna go

other then that I have a noise rig of sorts (bunch of old school samplers/drum machines and mixer fed back in to itself) all plugged in to a roland RC-50 loop station...I like to bust out loops on this when I can't be arsed to sit in front of the computer any more, since I'm a developer and code 10 hours a day as it is. Or if I'm too fucked up to use a computer....can always still record some neat/harsh shit on the good old analog gear.

other then that the usual healthy serving of gabber kicks and retriggers can always be assured

I like the posts! , they're really giving me a good image!, but as i see...
it's (almost)everywhere the same , work work work , coming home , attempt to create something and that every day....
Same here , but i keep finding it hard to even make a part of a so called "song"of mine which will keep ending in the garbage can 2 days later. After 2 months of figuring out the do's and dont's on creating stuff and getting a long with renoise i still find it dissappointing that i just cant get those wonderfull idea's that i have to put it in sound. But hey ,rome wasn't build in one day.And i guess i have a long, long road to go where the most of the members of this community are now .

What has been a real great help for you guys in the beginning , where you started with no clue at all?

HEHEH I've been doing this for near 10 years and feel the same way

Just make sure you are doing it because you enjoy it...I've had producer friends come and go after the dream of being a breakcore superstar doesn't become an instant reality (nor likely will it ever). Now they are all married and boring....personally I would rather stab myself in the eye with 15 viking dicks then stop working on tunes.

Bottom line I guess is don't pick up the axe if you just planning on putting it down again, because you will never learn to swing it right.

Nah , i really like to get into making music , and i dont think i would stop with it(because the beginning is always the hardest part i think , so i just keep on struggling) . The dream of becoming "a superstar" wasn't on the planning , because i just want to create a sound which i could say to myself , hear this , this is what i made ,and if there are people out there enjoying those songs i would be another happy young man on the world(even without the people :lol:

,once i finish something that sounds a bit , i will be).

10 years....must have gone fast , and the thought's that a person like you is still learning every day about how to express your feelings and thoughts into music.

i have to be in the mood to make music now days

i never plan a song out unless i hear an a sample that can build ideas upon ideas. that's why my transitions are never smooth because i mainly just make music at the speed of thought.

i can work on songs for hours at a time or 10 minutes at a time.

but it usually takes me about a month or 2 weeks to finish a song nw.

none of that "i made this in 2 hours" too much tweaking for that now days

one of my tracks took 7 months. another took 2 weeks. sometimes I "feel" it and it just flows, those are the most fun. Others need a lot more effort, but the end result is always the same.

I always have an idea/thought/feeling in mind when I'm making something. gotta have that or it's just... nothing.

this is what i do to get an idea of what im going to do...

First i think of a name for the track...
i name my tracks with variatons of my friends names...
then i produce something on their character and my current emotions
then ideas start flowing in

and afterwards just sit and listen to what ido...because i love doing what i love

I create several 30 second long songs, get bored of them, forget them, and finish them half a year later
