I just thought of something. Wouldn't it be AMAZING if he got an actual orchestra to perform this stuff? Like, Aphex Twin - Icct Hedral style.
He could re-release both this one and Rossz, and I would totally re-buy both.
Edit: Well maybe not both... but definitely Rossz.

This amen hating is really pissing me off though. Your tune isn't "better" because you use a different, randomly selected break from some shitty WAV pack you downloaded off the internet for free. It doesn't fucking matter get me? Indie guitarists use the same effects (it's called a trend), drummers hit the same drums, and all trumbones sound the same! Yes, inevitably, it's what you do with it that counts.
*sigh*.

whoa whoa whoa, who said their tune was better because they didn't use the amen?
and who's saying that their track is better with the amen?
stop downloading generic break packs then nigga, i dunno about you but i have manage to come across some quality breaks from the Internet, from friends, and even some breaks off snares himself and the homie dj knick of evol intent, came across some limewax drums and even a current value break that wasn't from that remix pack . . . . for free
why you gonna hate on being versatile?
with todays standards using a single break isn't even good enough anymore, i feel have to layer breaks to get the full sound i want to achieve, i pick and pluck high hats snares and kicks and create a Frankenstein break.
doesn't mean my song is gonna be any good but at least i am doing something about making my own sound.
see that's the difference with bands and producers.
we have the capability to change our sound with an ease, we are not a fucking band, we are not subjected to using the same drum set and presets.
if you are some what creative then you can create something far beyond what could ever be considered breakcore. . . . . something like snares has.

Heh? You, effectively. At least that's the way you're coming across with your many anti-Amen posts.

I dunno... ?
producer_snafu wrote:stop downloading generic break packs then nigga,
I don't download generic break packs. I use original stuff sourced from my record collection mostly, because I like to EQ and process them myself. Don't call me "nigga" please.

Why you gonna try put words in my mouth? I said no such thing.

Well that's your prerogative mate. But actually I do the same thing. Most of my tracks feature the amen break and least half a dozen others with individual hits from each placed sequentially to get the sound I want, in much the way 'Snares does.

Yep. You can buy effects pedals for guitars, yet most guitarists just use a basic distortion; because that's what they want to hear.

Venetian snares, to me, is the very definition of breakcore. The guy is my hero

i never claimed to be better than anyone, if my anti amen rants seem to come that way i assure you not, i have no ego to feed especially based on a break, i consider myself more of innovative enthusiast more than i would be an anti amen enthusiast.
i feel the same way about presets as i do about breaks.
producing is fun man, well for me at least, it's more than a hobby, its a form of self expression and an extension of ones emotions, using basic samples that everyone uses is kinda like only using the same colors in all your paintings and never mixing the colors.
that's why some artists are more respected than others because mutha fuckas actually stepped out side the box and said
. . . . several hours later you got Michelangelo painting two nakid niggas on a life like vivid cloudhmmm that cloud isn't white with a black outline, it's more of a blended yellow, grey blue color, but damn, all i have is 8 colors, lets mix it up and experiment

i'm not putting words on your mouth but yer argument is no different from me ranting about the amen to people who complain about not using the amen

most guitarists wanna use their basic distortion because that's all they can afford, or that's all they will settle for, there is a world of options out there for distortion, you have preamps, tubes, digital and over drive heads.
some guitarists are even talented enough to have their own signature foot pedals.
kinda like how Otto has his own Vst.
why?
because that dude is mad innovative and those people at nativei nstruments noticed

I really don't get the point you're trying to make. Something about making everyone stop doing what they want and be more innovative in a way you deem appropriate?
I'll answer this, though
You, effectively. At least that's the way you're coming across with your many Pro-Amen posts.
Nice try. But I'm only arguing blanket rules against using stuff (i.e. your anti-amen sentiment).
