This thread was never meant to be deadly serious and neither is any other part of this site. However, petty squabbles are neither funny nor interesting, though maybe I don't speak for everyone. I don't know or care how you and Thallium have fallen out with each other in the past and I expect the same goes for most other people here. If it helps, maybe you could set up a separate thread to hurl interweb abuseLOLZ at each other so those who it appeals to can revel in your witty banter while the rest of the forum stays relatively flame-retardant.

okay as for the actual point of this thread, i guess i can be cereal.
making music for the point of OMG IM GONNA MAKE THE MOST HARCORE FUCKING SHIT EVER AND I'LL BE HARDCORE AS FUCK doesn't really work for me, the same as making the most out there, outlandish shit possible. or even the most complex shit possible. cause one of two things will hapen, it will either suck ass, it just won't sound as hard as it's 'supposed to' or worse, it will all sound like a song snares did 8 years ago. okay one of 3 things will happen, maybe more but i can't speculate.
so i try to make my shit reasonably complex, but don't really aim for a certain level of abrasiveness. hard as fuck songs will come out, not always on purpose, and then some softer shit, though it's all nice and wet and fuzzy and distorted. the main thing i aimfor is to cut down on repetition, oversampling, and genre-hugging cause i think those are some of the main problems in the electronic scene these days.... heh.... besides big egos... and people who only like the music theyre hearing if theyre on drugs (which makes sense cause it's not actually good music) and a bunch of promoters catering to that mindset and keeping trance and house the law of the land at most raves, ewww ewww eww eww.
and it's not even that i wanna go to a party and see some hardcore or breackore or speedbootymetalmethnoiseterrorbass or whatever the fuck, for the most part i'd just like to see something different, maybe even something i hated, cause i'd hate it less than house and would be impressesed to see that someone took the uber deadly risk of having the room cleared for 40 minutes (like, the most horrible thing ever apparentally is to have a bunch of preppy e-tards who know shit nothing about electronics stop dancing)
with that said it's increasingly hard to make 'experimental music' at all these days, because so much ground has been covered, and so many people using the name aren't ACTUALLY experimenting with anything at all. so i think about that some more and don't know what to do and just make whatever the fuck comes out. i don't wanna try to outdo anybody on most number of drum edits per 10th of a second or anything. i just want it to be reasonably complex, keep a good flow while still going on some crazy tangents and just have it sound good whether you're sober, drunk, stoned, on pcp, or whatever the fuck drugs whoever does. ive always been a fan of the mindset of getting fucked up and listening to music, but the point of that isn't to do enough drugs that shitty music starts to sound good. oh and.... eventually, i'd like to make something completely distanced from any music that anyone else has ever made, ever. but i that even possible?
