MicroKORG owners?
Anyone a MK owner here? I'm pretty sure I want to pick one up, but I keep being distracted by the Alesis Micron. I know the Micron has a few more features and double the polyphony, but the MicroKORG just seems so attractive to buy regardless.
Can anyone chime in with their thoughts on the MK (or possibly the Micron)?

the microkorg is fucking awesome, i use it daily. When you play with it at guitar center it seems ok then you get it home and at first its quite boring but then once you get through the presets and start diving into the synthesis its fucking spot on. Even with out a distortion (which i recomend) you can get some nasty fucking leads out of it.

I liked the microKorg a lot when I used it. I just found the interface to be really.... clunky. I found programing a synth patch to be more of a headache than anything... but it is possible to make some really amazing sounds out of it.
I don't need a fucking signature... WolfMerrik.com

there is a program that you can run on your comp and edit programs via a midi connection I havent messed with it but it seems like it has alot of features. Also check out this months issue of BPM magazine. It has an interesting idea for performance with a MK

I'm buying one this upcoming spring. I've messed with them in-store a lot and they're fucking awesome.
Can't wait to get it. Honestly, I don't even know how to play piano. Hopefully I can manage to teach myself... either way, it'll be niiiice to play around with.
And is it just me, or is this thing priced lower than what it "should" be? I mean in comparison to others of its type, it seems pretty versatile...

Forgot to post in here when I got mine.
Thing's pretty damn sweet. I've already written a few patches, mostly just weird(nasty)-sounding ones, haha. And as a beginner on playing piano in general, I can tell you it takes just as much practice tweaking this thing as it does to actually learn how to play.
My only complaint so far is the mic. It's too floppy for one thing, and I have to like put my mouth ON it to get the vocoder to register. I really like how the R3's looks, and then it's just a regular mic input where it connects - that would be really helpful.
And I kind of wish it had some RCA ins/outs like the KP3. That would be nice, too. Now I have to go to RadioShack or Guitar Center and buy all sorts of converter cables to get it set up with my stereo.
Definitely $400 well-spent though.
