i'm using various sequencing progs..
mostly i use cubase and madtracker for the production and arranging of my tracks.. using a sickass hardware collection running trough a mixer and goes into the pc.. the whole studio is build in a modular way so it works like one big synthesizer/workstation.. and than i put it into cooledit to edit some dynamics and give it all a pre-master!!
for my performance i use ableton live and some effect units and a uc33 midi controler

started out with fruityloops. i always liked how easy it was just to go with that program. like i could make music so fast on it and just get my ideas out so easily.
now i switched from a pc to use an ibook. so i've switched to logic express. it really seems that you need to have an idea of what you want already and some patience with this program if you want to make anything with it.
at least, that's my experience.

What's the easiest program to get started with? The only one I've used so far was cubase and that was years ago at school.

Think FL , i ve used it for 4-5 years now.
Its really easy to get started with, and if later discover more about the program its even sweeter.
I'm still learning shit now too

ok, all of you reason haters out there.
I use Cubase, I'm looking for something like dr. rex. I want to be able to chop samples up like it does. It's a lot faster than chopping your own samples. I'm about to just rewire the shit. but I'd much rather be totaly done with reason and never have to look at it again.

which version of cubase, i know in version 4studio (which i am currently figuring out) has some thing similar to beat detective that will extract grooves and chop samples. If not and you want extreme sample chopulation (modulating your chops) check out some of reaktors sample transformers

Thanks I'll check out reaktor. Cubase 4 would be nice. But I don't think anybodies figured out a crack for it yet. So I'm on 3 yet.
