well forget about xanopticon.. lets talk about the sounds. and the drum programming.

im looking for this particular sounds. and the way of making that style . ( for me is not just idm)

1.vsnares (HUge crhome cylinder box) http://rapidshare.com/files/31889128/Venetian_Snares_-_Huge_Chrome_Cylinder_Box_Unfolding.www.gabber.od.ua.rar

2. Spitfire Lynch http://www.mediafire.com/?6zdtidem5jbhttp://www.mediafire.com/?71ngjm1oty3

3. Datachi http://rapidshare.com/files/29147017/Datachi_-_Shock_Diamonds_-_2006.www.gabber.od.ua.rar

someone can tell me ?? i just need ideas suggestions. i have allready a couple of months trying to figure out what makes them different but i cant find what it is. i need help on this . im going to put the links to download the music so maybe anyone can help me to find out what it is.

i know that maybe is just clicks and cuts . glitchy sounds . but how they work talking about drum signatures. they programming the drums really out of time . they use loopz but is really hard to notice them . how they do that?

Lots of time, make the effort. You want to be spending 30 minutes on a bar, not 30 seconds. I didn't listen to Datachi, but it sounds like Spitfire Lynch uses some kinda chop-up plugin. I know venetian snares sequences every hit by hand. Not that it matters either way, as long as the end result sounds good. Ultimately, put the time in, don't be lazy. And don't imitate.

Patience is all you need, you have to literally hand selecting every bleep and every hit, it's no good sticking an amen break in and hoping you can use Glitch or Scrubby to work a miracle. Use them in places obviously, but you have to get right in to the smallest milliseconds to paste in a huge variety of noises.

it's well made, but, all his shit sounds the same! i listened to the three tracks on "the silver key" - it's like one big track split into thirds - totally indistinguishable. and that schizophrenia set, I downloaded that and skipped through it... identical all the way through.

maybe you should listen to his stuff in it's entirety...

his track symptom on the jagoff uprising comp is pretty sweet. also his alembic 12" is pretty nice...

hearing him play live is also really just a great experience, especially on a good system. i'm not trying to say ryan is incontestably the best out there, but the man makes some nasty beats. i know there are elements that sound repetitive, but it's all interesting, imo...

no matter how you slice, edit, glitch, etc., there is almost no way to avoid being "repetitive", even being "non-repetitive" gets "repetitive"...

i've seen both ryan and pete play many times. can't say i would prefer one over there, cause they are both amazing at what they do...

to be honest, it's hard to walk that line between repetitive and not. there are times that it's totally great and well placed, but people who over do it sometimes, at least imo, lose out on certain elements, that are amazing and i would love to hear more of, but in the end it's up to the producer/performer to decide how it's played, etc...

Yeah live sets are generally fine (there's tons in our download section).

It's pissing me off a bit at the moment actually! I'm generally sympathetic with anti-piracy stuff from artists not wanting their albums to be downloaded or leaked and shit like that because, obviously, that's their livelihood and they've worked hard to produce it. Live music however is different as it was performed in public in the first place and if anything, having live sets available for download would increase revenue for the artist as people will hear how good they are and book them to play. I've seen a number of dedicated mix sites remove all their downloads because of pressure from record companies. First mixupload.com (which wasn't even for big name DJs) and now mixesdb.com. Thankfully though, breakcore and the rest of the underground electronica scene are less uppity about their 'property'! Rant over.

Rant over.
