what do you think?
There is no doubt that something is going wrong with the voting. Several great tracks are rated bad and rather bad tracks have high rating. Moreover, if you read the comments on a track and see its rating it often doesn't coincide at all.
I think there are a lot of improvements which can be done to achieve more unprejudiced rating. For example, I think you should forbid the voting by the people who have submit their tracks.
I also would like to attend, maybe even in this contest, but the current situation with the rating does not really motivate me...

I have changed the structure/method in which votes are going to be done... However I will apply them to the next contest.
The change will be as follows :
anyone think of something else while i still have time to revise it?
I kinda like the "not being able to vote if you submitted an entry rule..." Ill add that to the maybe pile.
The change will be as follows :
- All submissions will be anonymous, until voting has ended.
Submissions cannot be played/voted on until voting has begun.
Only one vote per IP addy.

I think the no vote if you've entered rule is essential if they are anonymous. Otherwise it is still possible for people to cheat by lowering everyone else's scores (not that I can see why anyone would want to cheat here). Otherwise, great ideas!

I would also propose to make all votes visible - it is not a problem of privacy because all tracks are anonymous, is it? Another option would be - you could hide the overall voting result until the end, such that no body follows the tendency to give a track higher note to increase its overall rating, like it was the case for me & JBL here

cheating deserves disqualification as far as I'm concerned.
only reason I'm even attempting doing these contests is because I need something, with a deadline, to keep me motivated in writing tunes cause I'm really fucking busy all the time with work, etc.
but I typically hate any sort of internet competition because it usually either turns into a popularity contest or someone finds a loophole to cheat.
