Set Opener...
Was wondering if you guys had any suggestion for a good set opener for a party i got coming up.
Doesn't have to be breakcore, but definately something to come out blasting with.

i've opened on my breakcore remix of the 'Rainbow' theme .. complete with the 'thames television' opening trumpet things. goes down well.
so in that vein ... how about Twelve by Vsnares?

when i do livesets, i tend to find and edit/rearrange vocal monologue type things. usually tends to be an interesting way to open things up. admittedly though, it's a really trite way to go.
i've kind of always thought about writing my own thing and reading that over the softer instrumental bits of my opening tracks, depending on where i'm playing and how long i've got to put together a live set.

dunno about an opener, but i've used this in a couple of DJ sets and it fits so well with various speedcore & breakcore tunes, it's so much fun to play with, cause it's so damn long...
one tune i've always liked using as an opener in a DJ set, cause the shit drops like a fucking bomb...
REPEATER - POOR HEALTH BAD CONSTITUTION
and the flip has one of my favorite raggacore tunez ever...
he really needs to put something new out, although from what krumble told me, that might not happen too soon...

Some sort of classic music could be fun. Or some spoken word or comedy.
Although, i think you should use your imagination.

Yea I've used that ministry record for opening or in the middle of sets. The spoken part at the beginning is good for opening/scratching. The length of it gives me time to pump myself up too hehe. If I use it in the middle of sets I usually scratch that engine noise at the beginning with tracks.
