Inventive controllers!
I've been seeing stuff like this around YouTube, and thought I'd share. I always like to see homemade stuff like this, including circuitbends and all that. Pretty interesting stuff. Anyway, to the sharing:
This one guy in particular, db3ll, has a few and they're pretty sweet.
Pennies 1
Pennies 2
MIDI Paper
MIDI Laser Drum
Driver's License MIDI Controller
And there's a lot of these - iPhone/iPod Touch as a MIDI controller. Not so hack-ey as any of the others, and the software probably isn't that complicated. Still, pretty cool.
Then I found this one, but I'm not sure if it's real or if he's just messing with stuff in sync with breaks that he edited earlier. I don't see why it couldn't work, though - we all probably did the potato + light bulb experiment in science class, right? Same principle would apply, I assume.
Anyone know of anything else like this stuff? I heard about someone making MIDI Pants, but I can't seem to find a video anywhere.

That Istari one isn't real, but it is very funny. This one by Tsunami Killcore is pretty interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oexALjBQV1k

Haha, sweet. That would be cool to see something like that live. I really like the sounds she was getting out of that.

Oh wow. Found this:
JazzMutant Lemur. I guess Daft Punk uses these in their live setup (or so I've heard). I would too, if I had $3000 to spare - you can customize the interface to whatever you want - have it control whatever! Pretty crazy.

Yeah I was gonna buy a Tenori-On which is similar to those but made by Yamaha. Looks amazing and is a more polished version of the ones above but apparently the others available have better sound/features. Went to see UNKLE the other day (who were shit) and they were using one live, looked pretty cool. Can't really afford £500 though. http://www.tenori-on.co.uk/
