You discovered gabba at 11? Fair play! My brain couldn't really cope with anything more than Captain Beefheart at that age, but saying that kinda explains a few things. He wasn't exactly mainstream himself...

Always wanted to visit the uk, will probably do so after a round trip of europe. Australia really is a great place to live, its just that im stuck in the worst part of it. Im a fairly specialized mechanical engineer, there are about 30 people in this country that do what i do, so i kind of relocate to wherever the work is, which is heavily decreasing, due to all mechanical/electrical components being imported because its much cheaper, so in the long run ill probably end up in china, or japan.

Oh thanks!
That's pretty hardcore in itself mate. At least you're majorly skilled & qualified in something specialized. How old are you if you don't mind me asking?
I work for an Engineering company that has an office in Sydney, Australia. We're a structural engineering company though.
That's wicked that you manage to find Gabba at 11!
I feel like i've been into it since birth too.

kudos to you for the beefheart thang. at 11 i was into slayer and metallica, it took a few more years untill i poped my beefheart cherry...now he is my god!
the happy hardcore scene in the uk put me off electronic music for a while, which is a shame cos i fookin love it now.

I've always been into a mixture of stuff actually. The first 'rave' music i liked was happy hardcore & it was listening to this that introduced me to Gabba or what us Northerners like to call it, Hardcore Techno. After this i started to listen to it more & more than before i knew it i had more tapes of Gabba than anything else. I was also spending all my time in the Technodrome.
That's without all the Reggae & Metal i was listening to from the age of 9.
