Quality Amens
Hey people,
I've been havin' trouble with finding some good quality amen samples.
Every loop of the amen i find is usually shit quality, and any of the splices to build your own amen kit are also shitty.
I listen to a lot of breakcore using amens, and they sound amazing, and professional quality.
Anyone know where I can find some good samples?

Try sampling the original, Amen Brother by the winstons,
look for the highest quality recording you can find of that song and sample it yourself
Gives you the best quality you can get.

record it?
Why not get some friends together round a mic.. record it.. play with it?
Mind you - my wife is in a choir so it's easy for me

Yeah, this is probably the best bet. There are a couple of other good breaks to sample, but none of them have the same effect as the original Amen.
A lot of people just sample the one bar that everybody's heard, but there are some other excellent snare hits throughout the rest of the recording, so try and find the complete drum break, and not just one bar, if possible.

There is not much more to sample then the 'break' part with solo drums, the rest is with other instruments on top, which makes them a lot less useful.
