Just pull back a half a beat on the 7. Back a half beat + forward a half beat = right on time with a 4/4.

cue in the new track on "1" and don't pay too much attention to its time signature while mixing. just think of the pulse while beatmatching. if you try to concentrate on the time sigs of both tunes, it will make your head hurt. mix in as you would a normal record (bass off), switch out the bass when you reach a suitable spot, switch out which song you're listening to in the headphones. done.

I can't stress enough that you just need to concentrate on the quarter or eighth note pulse and let the mix happen.

yeah, what alan said... I was trying to think of how I'd answer that question because, while it's not easy to mix tunes in different signatures, it is as basic as just counting. Starting on the one of both, mix and gtfo of there.

hmm, sounds complex under pressure. appreciate the reply tho..

it's all my own stuff, most are 4/4 but I have others in 7/4, 11/8, 5/4 and a compound 15/8.

Nah, I'll just make special live version 4/4 intros + outros for those tracks!

I like to spin breakcore. Vinyl only. Would a Korg KP3 be a good addition to my setup? I really want one.

I currently only have 2 decks and a mixer.
