Stupid question about midi controller use.

Postby jimmusician » Mon Jan 04, 2010 4:29 am

ok, so for christmas I actually got an m-audio axiom 25 keyboard. I'm digging the thing, but for the past couple days I've been thinking, is it possible to hook it up to a sort of rackmount sound library, so I can take it with an amp and perform live? I'm a bass player, so I've got a decent amp (a pair of combos with 15 inch speakers), but I'm really looking to hook up this midi controller with something giant. If not, I've got a regular sort of keyboard to fuck around with and I can put drums behind it, but I'd rather be able to do what i want. I mean, the main frustrating thing with computer music to me is all the sounds, patches, presets, etc.....you can't just put that on a module that'll just be a plug and play deal? WTF?

they have rack mount synths/samplers/drummachines. all hardware has presets man. to connect, you would use the "midi out" from your axiom, into the "midi in" of whatever device you want to use.
