I have used FL once for a live set. Triggering VST and simple mixing of the tracks. It was pretty poor and boring.
I also used Renoise for another gig doing basically the same only playing basslines and synths with a midi board and triggering VST using a Evolution X-session midi device, this was really good fun but still isnt what I am looking for.
Had some fun with Reaktor but never really built anything that was great enough to keep me entertained. Plus I run a ghetto pc so it isn't logical.
I am now building a patch in Audio Mulch having about 8 players, 4 cross faders and many VST's, aswel as a synth that can be played live through board.
If I actually grew some balls I'd perform a solo punk / audio violence set using the Audio Mulch set up a guitar with many peds and a mic screaming my little heart out....yeah.

My set is not breakcore oriented but a form of dark electro/glitch.30-45 minutes.
I use a dell Inspiron 1520 running Renoise 1.9.0,with lots of traks pre-rendered/pre-programmed and a patch in Reaktor -3 instances of it.A bit similar to Exile's but with a more complex synth and aimed towards sample manipulation, not audio-input manipulation.Controlled by padkontrol-a bit like a mpc.
Plus Surge VST for pads/drones-played directly from the laptop's keyboard.
It's easy to input Renoise commands on the fly-i don't let Renoise to scroll the screen. My set is at 145 bpm tempo always so if i feel like i would record a new lead line realtime,it will fit the grid ,due to the high tempo.
So i use 3 really big patterns that contain all the 3-5 songs -> mute/unmute, drum editting, live playing
.For controller...PadKontrol and sometimes,Nord Modular for it's 18 knobs and additional noodling.All through E-mu 0404 USB 44,1/16.So far,the mixer was the club/venue's mixer.
I must admit i can do it perhaps easily in ableton but i'm a long time tracker user and i'm used that way.So far,no crash.WinXP sp2.

Some guy with a gameboy
I can't remember who it was anymore, but there was this guy that was performing with his gameboy on stage.
Fuckin' A Breakcore came out of it
I wanted to ask for the specs, but he had to leave very quickly again.

Not a very good addition, but it was cool!
