There's a link to a really good discussion of the Novation Nocturne on the Renoise board. Of course, it's a Renoise specific discussion but you should be able to apply it to whatever.

The thing is pretty affordable and evidently is working out great for people. If I didn't just blow all my cash on monitors I would be thinking about these a lot.
