Renoise?

Postby ObedMarsh » Thu Nov 15, 2007 7:18 am

everyone talks about how great Renoise is and how amazing trackers are.
I have no clue on how to use renoise, Did I take stupid pills this morning?
I dunno.
so does anybody know where I can find a tutorial for dummies on renoise or
something in that vein?

I think someone posted some tutorials on here long ago or I'm just confused and seen em some place else. But anywhoooo

There are various ones on youtube just search for renoise. But I really enjoy this french guy's tutorials. They are pretty informative and he cracks me up also.

I don't use Renoise but I've seen Kaneel's vids... they could be helpful (and entertaining) to users of any production software I think, especially his "render selection to sample" video...

I'm just a beginner myself but the obvious place to start would be the Renoise tutorial wiki on the Renoise site: http://tutorials.renoise.com/
It's pretty helpful for the basics and for getting to know your way around.

And I agree that Kaneel's tutorials are a must. He teaches some useful tricks but it's mainly useful just to see Renoise working so you get what it's all about. It seems pretty easy once you get your head round it, I just haven't had the time to really get down some tunes. My project for the christmas break maybe.

Yea I'm pretty interested in Renoise myself, just haven't had time to sit down with it. Once I get settled with the move and get a new computer up and running I'll buy it and spend some time with it.

OK

I have been using Renoise now for about a week and after some really dark and depressing days i am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and a bright light it is!!! Renoise is amazing!!
I been spending a lot of years frustrated with the software i worked with but i would never have thought that this "cheap" program would give me back the fun in making music.
In the beginning it was all to much for me but after looking at a few tutorials things started to work and ik can't wait till i am fully at home in this program. then you could do some amzing stuff.

Oh yeah f#ck vista!!! i was having a lot of sound problems and after reinstalling XP everything runs very smooth again!

and thanks for the samples!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've come to the point where I can certainly edit breaks but I can't equalize the sounds and make my songs seem full for the life of me. Even after hours of experimentation I have absolutely no clue how to use the 'eq 5' and 'eq 10' effects. Any pointers on equalization in renoise to create a fuller sound?
