.

NOD32 for antivirus, cuz it works well and does not take over your machine...its also does not use a lot of ram.

for spyware/malware i run malwarebytes...its free and it seems to work well. if you go to a lot of sites that could be harmful i would run SpyBot Search and Destroy along with Malwarebytes, sinch both of them can find differnt things.

for firewall control i use Windows 7 Firewall Control, its free and allows me to manage which apps can call home.

on music production machines i dont run anything, but they are on a isolated network and never go online.

Bitdefender, it has no shield what so ever, but it scans good and doesn't drain cpu.

Ad spybot search and destroy for some malware bullshit.

When I used Windows, I use Avast!. It worked pretty well for me. But then I switched to Linux (Ubuntu, Mint, Slitaz and Puppy) and didn't worry about viruses.

There's a lesson in there somewhere, I think.

Linux. It's free and doesn't hog your CPU.
