A thought I had...

Postby felixhelix » Wed Aug 15, 2007 3:10 pm

Hi,
So we all know the majority of breakcore producers (prolific or not) use trackers. However I've yet to come across someone who uses a sequencer, and I wondered why this was, after all , in the grand scheme of things trackers and linear sequencers are very alike. So in essence, what I'm asking is, what makes renoise better than logic set to a high resolution for breakcore? (I personally use Logic 5.5 :p)

just recently i ran into an article about kid606 using logic. luckily this was not long after i started learning my way around logic. so i figure if its good enough for him, its good enough for me.

Kid 606 also uses reaktor, least he did on some of his older albums.

Personally it don't matter to me what program software people use as long as they make great music that makes me try to figure things out. There are various ways and methods to do the exact same thing in the music biz. Its just a personal preference really.

Yeah, tbh trackers I've never really washed with, simply because they're more difficult to get very small edits with, despite the fact they're almost the same as logic in matrix mode, just turned on their side, I can however see their appeal in gabber and speedcore though, given that at its core its very arhythmic and metronomic music, whereas a lot of the time breakcore does tend to have a swing to it.

i absolutely agree to that.
every program has a different focus (besides giving you the opportunity to arrange sound information) - it's simply about finding the one (or two...) that suits you and your workflow best.
