best app to rip audio from dvd?

normally go through a long process of ripping the audio from VirtualDub and then rendering it down

any one have any other preferences?

Actually i have answered my question;

winamp is a good source, with waveoutput and can play videos and i can skip fast forward to whatever point i want.

i just play it on whatever and record it with goldwave

I use Audacity. It can be set to record 'What you hear' in the options/input. Once this is set, just play the dvd in Vlc player or whatever you use. Simply hit record in Audacity when the dialogue you want comes up. Then edit the .wav to clean it up.

I was wondering this too. But doesn't audacity (and goldwave too I assume) take the sound from the output mix? meaning it might gain some noise? I know mine does at the minute, my current sound card's awful. Does winamp take sound direct from the video or throw it around the sound card first? Can anything do that?

I take it i could record(rewire) everything that i play on FL studio and save it in holdwave/audoacity?
