FL 8 pianoroll

Postby Babylon Disco » Sat Jul 05, 2008 5:33 pm

Am I just crazy or has it gotten worse? I used to be able to slice and dice by just using shift+righ click. (In FL6) Now it's gone.
Is there something I can do to bring back the old days? Is there a nifty way of cutting stuff I'm not seeing?

I don't mean it like that, I can still chop stuff up into small pieces. But in earlier versions you could cut the ends off much quicker using a slice-tool. Now you gotta select the tool, slice, and then reselect the normal tool.
It's such a hassle!

Well, I don't have FL 8 yet, so I don't know - still works in 7, though...

Have you tried other key combinations? Alt-Right Click, Ctrl-Right Click, Alt-Shift-Right Click, etc?

I can't imagine they'd just drop the feature.

What did you do if you didn't use piano roll?

I did, but no luck! And it's not like that button-combination does anything else now, it's just blank. Wtf!

I just used the step sequencer, just the main thingy where you fill in beats.

I agree. Finally got round to installing a more recent version of FL. I've been stuck on v4.1 for ages. And Im pretty disapointed. So many of the features Im used to have either been changed so far as to make them slightly annoying, or just disapeared completely.

You're right, there is no keyboard shortcut for the slice tool in the piano roll, which is a step back imo. The granulizer is rubbish now, and there seems to be some wierd snap issues using the old style event editor. Apart from the new slicer there is nothing i feel is improved enough to make me want to stick with version 8. Reinstalled 4.1, happy again.
