Breakcore Zine
If you want to contribute, this is the thread
djtheblade and I will do quality control
anything can be submitted, don't hold back, if we don't want it we won't take it
we'll tie the zine back in to this site- double edged sword: it'll promote the site, and be building itself up off of the existing community
if this thread works out, hopefully it can be stickied

I would definitely like to contribute.
I have a tendency to be a grammar Nazi, so I would probably do relatively well as an editor. I can also write if needed/wanted
Like I said in the other thread I also so photography and some graphic design, but a shit ton of other people do too, and are better than I am, i.e. Boris Clitoris.

We're gonna need some topics to write about, bit difficult when the whole movement has kinda fallen on its own ass. Each page can have its own aesthetic theme though, not sure if you guys read Adbusters but the art and type styles is always mixed up from page to page.
I was thinking last night of some fun segments, to add a bit of humour, each issue I could write to one of my local MPs to discuss with them the merits of Breakcore, and I could publish the responses I get.

The fact that the movement has fallen on its ass could be a starting point for so many subjects though
I like the idea of each page being themed
We could have a "centrefold" where the two most interior pages are treated as one big page, and save that space for the best graphics
Good topics imo:
-album reviews
-artist reviews
-label reviews
-show reviews
-interviews
-history lessons
-concepts driving breakcore (music theory, socio-political/cultural context)
-random art
Reviews interest me because they could be in almost any format
Lots of awesome art critics write narrative, and half the time it's more about the critic than the art
Someone could even write on a specific song if they wanted to
I know I can write well, my drawing is mediocre though

I guess it depends on how it's done
I mean, I hardly think we'd need his help creating a page that says "this website is awesome and if you like the shit you've been reading just now, go register an account on it" nor do I think he would object

"Pizza magazine"
Might be worth doing a bit of quality control on free-releases before we go advertising things for folk, cus there is some hardcore shit making it to netlabels these days, like, really lame stuff that will just reinforce everyone's negative perceptions of our ridiculous world ha, we gotta make sure we're advertising super duper talent (subjective I know, but we can all agree on certain things i'm sure).
