Breakcore in your area
Hi guys and galls
Over here in Belgium i feel that the genre has died of a little bit, it has become more and more hardcore oriented nowadays. Atleast thats how i
feel about it
How is it like in your area ?
If you're from Belgium say whats up

Well, we are just now starting to get a lot of drum and bass styles rising up and taking over. It was really house-y and lots of dubstep. Thats finally changing a bit. Hopefully I can get a good project going soon to help accent that.

Manchester UK is sort of hitting Limbo again; some of the big Dubstep nights have pretty much ceased, and whilst there are still a few of those dotted about there doesn't seem to be any one distinct thing rulling the airwaves. Still a little Breakcore about in the form of Sindrome but that's largely it.

We are trying our best! but yeah most nighsts are dubstep/ jump up dnb and jungle, same old shizz really.
Well here in stockholm we have ONE club who plays breakcore and their goal i think is to have one club a month but they suck at it and they never update their site or answer mails... but in their favor they have brought many great artists here like Bong-ra, Rotator, Broken note, Duran duran duran and so on.
Been thinking of starting something myself instead.

There's breakcore in belfast (Cerebro, Freakshow) + (If you're not above going up there, I'll be doing a set with bong-ra in december), but nowhere else really, 'cept for a bit of chiptune in dublin, (and a bit of u-ziq hosted by !Kaboogie (comin up next month I think))
just memes and donks these days

i live on vancouver island, there's a pretty amazing culture here actually, especially with regards to electronic music
the city i live in is basically made up of island hippies, old people, hipsters, and yuppies, a big percentage are university students
but dubstep is just exploding here, people like house and a few people are into harder dnb but no one really likes fast/hard shit, at least that i've found in the year i've been here
i fucking love breakcore and i wish i could meet someone else who does face to face

Milwaukee used to have a scene back in the early 00s, but now theres just no fans anymore.
I spin out about 3 nights a week, and im completely unaware of anyone that even likes breakcore anymore. seriously, if i had like 4 people who wanted to hear breakcore, I'd gladly melt their faces, but im in the business of selling beer, so i have to play what the crowd wants...
id rather just trade MP3s over the internet anyway. maybe someday when I have enough money to tour, I'll try and book some flights out to these majestic breakcore oasis-es that people claim still exist...
