I've been searching for that grail for centuries.

Hail guys !

About your midi control problem you can use the vst called : Artillery 2 form Sugar Byte.

This plug-in allow you to set up and effect on each key (or pad) of your midi controller and the effect are activate only when the key is hold (and you can combinate them into playing with more than one key). It's the best live effect that I know.
Watch these vidz you understand ;-)

otherwise i may have to configure the controller itself

just kind of an out there question haha

I'll fool around today and see if I can figure one out. I'm guessing it would probably only work on a key/button that detects pressure like a trigger finger or a keyboard that can handle velocity. Currently I do something sorta like that with a knob, to turn on and off effects....along with a lot of other customization.

If I can't figure it out, I'll hit up my other ableton friends that know it like the back of their hand....or they can ask a guy who works for em.

Hmm that might could be a project for max for live, once I start making stuff.

agree with art, a pressure-sensitive control surface, like a triggerfinger will do the trick, i use mine for that same purpose. when a pad sends a midi value > 63 the "device" it's mapped to turns on, let go of the pad and the value will drop back to zero (device goes off)

also fun for controlling fx sends and filters, krazy delays, verbs and swooshes flying everywhere... great way to clear the room!

i have a remote sl25 and iv been trying to do just that forever, problem is none of my controls turn off when theyre not being pressed, it has pressure sensitive pads (0-127) and keys and neither will cease the signal they send after the button's been pressed, exhausted just about every single setting trying

i also have an mpd24 but its pads conflict with the keys from the sl25, they end up sending the same signal :/

im determined to figure this out though haha
