I've never enjoyed myself at an event I was throwing because of trying to keep it all together and usually being the sober one to handle the money.

I like playing events more than I like throwing them.

All very good advice, just make sure if you do throw a party have some trusted security for the occasional douche bag that decides to ruin the fun.
