breakcore is super underground, because its on myspace

Postby atebit » Sun Jul 08, 2007 11:29 pm

hahah, ok...

so.. why does everyone have a god damn myspace?
i know i know, "networking".
arent you supposed to be warriors of the underground?
not sucking rupert murdochs money grabbing dick?
and generating more money via countless flashing adverts?

long story short, a dating website probably is not the best
way to shine out from the crowd.

my 2 cents.

its cool that someone had made a site like this,
as opposed to sitting around on a fucking dating website
made for 14 year olds who are too stupid to look beyond
prefabricated society/tools.

ps - i may have stole one of your domain choices a while ago heh.

the easy way isnt always whats for the best.

websites cost about 20$ for a domain name,
maybe 40$ for a years hosting.

if you cant sacrifice a bag of weed's worth of money
to represent your vision unfiltered, untracked..
youve already lost the battle.

maybe websites arent for all people i can understand and agree with that.
theres always ways to band together and create something new.
look at the history of zines, books, art.

i'd say all of those mediums are not as effective when portrayed
on a website made for dating.

another fun fact about myspace is that it has police that search their page.
there have been many instances of graffiti artists , who posted pictures
and were tracked/arrested.
someone was set up for a sting opperation over a 1 oz. pot deal.

not like yr site has anything to offer

with breakcoresucks.com its pretty obvious that its a joke site, and i never said thats
where you should go to learn.
i'm simply prodding around here to encourage you
all to make your own things.
instead of hopping on the bandwagon.

diy is for sellouts.

That is for the most part why I made this site. To give a community to a scene that was nothing but a barrage of bedroom producers myspace links. I wanted to create a "scene" so to say where users could add tracks, rate/slam download samples etc, that allow people who simply can't afford 60 some odd bucks to get a decent hosting package as well as learn html, php, java, css and all that other shit you need to know to write a decent web page these days.

Allthough I do agree, that I would rather see people doing their own thing than sit on someone elses site all day. This site is more of a half-way house towards that I guess.

edit - btw I was kinda curious what breakcoresucks was all about hahaha ;)

I totally fucking agree man, I used to be way more into the whole computer thing but lately it seems my views have been turning somewhat towards hippy-ish. Anymore i love being outside and enjoying exercise. I really believe the computer is just a step up from the tv to keep people sedated and detached from REAL life. (Even know i am using one right now its all about moderation and knowing when you have had enough)

Why do you need to rely on your appearance to shine from the crowd? If your music is good, it doesn't matter where it is hosted. Myspace is easy, it gives pretty much instant feedback and everyone knows how to use it. Breakcore doesn't have to be about being as anti-mainstream as possible. It's about making music that pushes boundaries. Experimenting. That doesn't mean you have to hate the system or shy away from everything that's vaguely popular. We aren't all generic anti-everything punk kids who conform against conformity and don't even know the definition of anarchy.

Actually, I'm totally kidding and totally full of it. After sending numerous comments to numerous females during my first three months there, and recieving no response and most likely talking to spam bots...

I decided "Fuck it...let's scare poeple."

Actually, on the topic of being "anti-establishment", what better way to do so than to wear a mask and pretend to be a part of it, when all the while your true motives lie in tearing it apart from the inside out.

It's the best way to throw down.
