I'm a big fan of the Daemon break, personally. The main bass kick and snare from that coupled with an amen is punishing.

ahh this thread gives me some insight into the popular technique used in breakbeat manipulation. at least in breakcore styles anyway.

the best breaks are composite breaks. customized and undertoned with solid one hits. taking an old funk sample and simply chopping it = weaksauce.

i wouldn't say "best" but definitely different, or unique.

I generally take 5 or more breaks, cut them up and resequence them using hits from the different sources. sometimes combining 2 or 3 diff snares.

i try to avoid using the amen when doing this because then everyone just thinks i've used the amen on it's own, heh.

yea i thought about my use of the word "best" right before looking at it again.

i should say that i prefer originally enhanced breaks or fresh ones.

getting a drummer mic'ed up and recorded is a good thing too. i really get tired of hearing the same waveforms in everyones music. even if youre ear cant recognize them directly , it still makes vibes stale later on .

the most powerfull break for me is Pucho - got myself a good man, and im kinda hoping none of you find it cause it's my secret weapon in hard breaks.

no breakcore producer on the planet deserves to find out about the better unknown breaks when your ignorance is high yelping AMEN FUCK YEAH!!!

Ehm, huh... are you trying to be a dick?

Pucho break is ok, it's distorted and there's too many bongos. And it doesn't have some of the hits the amen has.
