Don't Require 3 Posts Before Download

I agree with silent frog it's not a hard thing to post 3 normal posts and it made the community that exists today, so i don't think it's a terribly bad rule.

Oh yeah and i can ban people to now , so when they start making three stupid meaningless topics, and they keep doing it after i delete their posts i'm gonna ban them, yeeh. Very Happy

EDIT:BTW i see it like this, when the 3 post rule isnt there, people will join, download what they want and never visit again.

But when they have to post 3 times, they atleast see the content of the forum and what not and maybe they will stick around . Very Happy

Although I can see why the three post rule exists, (and the 7 day limit?!?)
i don't think that this will prove to be as effective as we would hope.

If people want to act as leeches, they will wait this one week period, and then do it when they have access (the bastards) Shocked

Surely a limit to how many downloads OR the size of them would be a more appropriate solution Rolling Eyes

Don't get me wrong, i see why it has been done this way, but one reason i dislike a lot of forums is that too many people get all self righteous about their beliefs or opinions (i see i'm doing it now)...

Maybe there's a forum for generally insulting people....i'm gonna go look for it now Laughing

I would like to suggest a new system.

First we would need volunteers, these members would volunteer to help the ihatebreakcore community with that task that could take too much time to do if there are only like 3 peeps who does the job. They would be recruted by the admin/mods. and of course, admin/mods would also be part of that team.

What do the volunteers do? they give forum members the privilege to download. That means that without that privilege, a member can not download anything from ihatebreakcore.com

"OMG OMG OMG, now only a few elite will be able to access the content??"

"nope, mostly everyone who deserves it"

To benefit of the privilege, a member will need 10 "true" post.

a "true" post is something significative, an interesting reply in a discussion. It's basicly anything besides a simple "hello" to raise your post count. Use common sense here.

Now, who's the judge of what is a true post and what's not? The volunteers.

Once a member reach 10 posts, he is sent on a "to be approved" list. The volunteers have access to this list and it gives an easy way to see all of this member's posts. The volunteers can now see if they have at least 10 "true" post in their total post. If a member has like.. 10 posts and 3 of them are kinda useless.. he will just stay on the list until he gets his 10 true posts.

Once the member gets approved, he will recieve a pm telling him so.

What do you think?

that way, only those who contribute at least a little will be able to leech from ihatebreakcore.com... and at the same time, it's easy to achieve the 10 true posts in less than 20 minutes and then you can download... all you need is approval.

I think it is hard to tell what excactely are true posts, and probably after those 10 ''true'' post they will surely leave too, but i do agree that this system isnt working perfectly at all, because now we get meaningless topics like i posted 3 times when can i download bullshit.

this whole thing seems pretty senseless to me...its a fact that we
are in the internet..or on it?..who cares..anyway..there would be no
system that avoid shitheads from just abusing the site to fill their
librarys...so the three post system is just a try to get em somehow
into the community but hardly prevent anything..as any other system
would..i mean ..on archive.org you can download gb`s of stuff too if
you want.. without paying some respect or whatever..so..sure there
will be more or less of these wichsern who just get what they want
and leave..so what ..fuck em..LET GOD JUDGE THEIR SORRY ASSES..
they miss a lot and its their loss..

guess not..need some wellfare?..i`ve no problem to pay a small
ammount for this site..maybe thats the best way to keep them out..
